A building housing the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC, was evacuated Wednesday morning following a report of a bomb threat.
“This morning there was a bomb threat received at the Humphrey Building. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the building and there is no reported incident,” HHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Sarah Lovenheim said in a statement, according to The Hill.
“We are monitoring the situation closely with Federal Protective Service,” she added.
At least three government buildings near the Humphrey Building were evacuated, The Washington Post reported, including the O’Neill House Office Building and the US Botanic Garden.
Reports also said a number of streets in the area were closed as the US Capitol Police and the DC police department respond.
